    Black Screen Upon Start Up


    Within the last week, both Xboxes in my household have experienced a black screen upon turning the xbox on. One more than once.

    Upon start-up (from instant mode) the controller and console indicated they were on, but there was no picture. In both circumstances for both consoles, I hard reset and they started up just fine. This was Thursday. This evening, upon using my console for
    the first time today, it occurred again. I hard reset and it cycled through and worked just fine.

    Is this a known bug after updates occur, etc? I've seen that it's on the troubleshooting page so obviously it's something people experience but I'm wondering if it ever stops, or if there's something more to do besides hard resetting it every time.

    Internet explorer not working anymore!!

    I also have this problem.

    I receive the blue IE logo upon start up, but then the app loads indefinitely on a black screen with the spinning circle icon.

    If you're on an Xbox One console and experiencing a
    blank screen     upon start-up, please try those steps.

    Sorry to see any issues you are running into. It sounds like your console just needs to be reset every few days. Having the console set to Instant On is like having your PC in sleep mode; once it starts to get sluggish, you normally restart your PC, right?
    Same situation.

    The best way to avoid this scenario, besides having it set to Energy Saving mode, is to make sure your console is plugged into the wall directly instead of any surge protectors or extension cables. If that doesn't help you out, you can give this

    troubleshooter page     a shot. Most of it is really basic stuff, but test out the things you haven't done yet, then get back to us on how that works! Black Screen Upon Start Up :)

    So I had the same problem yesterday. Turned it off and waited and eventually everything came back on. No problem. Had plans last night went out came home went to bed. Woke up this morning tried turning on my xbox and bam, red ring. Anyone else have this
    happen? Im not going to lie im a little ***. It was working just fine veggie and after whatever the hell happened. What did Microsoft actually do to fix this issue?
