Black screen on Power Up

When I turn on my Xbox, instead of going to the home screen it just goes to a black screen with the Xbox logo in the upper right hand corner. I can power off with the controller and hard reset but it only goes to the black screen. Any suggestions?

App/Game shortcuts now showing ms-resource names only on Home pane

I had the same ms-resource:LABEL_MESSAGIGN_APP_DISPLAYNAME issue yesterday and today I now have a black screen on start-up (after the green xbox one screen displays). I tried power 10 seconds, power switched off, and the hold eject and power on for 5 seconds
but nothing.

Same thing happened to me; power supply white, xbox on but black screen unpluged power and kinect then power up and it worked. Why did this happen? just software or a bigger issue?

 

Are you able to navigate to any menus after powering it on?

You may need to Factory Reset your console (Settings > Console > Factory Reset)

 

Hi, I'm not sure how you are hard resetting the xbox but I have seen this work more than once with this issue.

Please note, you must use the power button on the xbox not the controller.

Press and hold the power button on the xbox for 10 seconds and the xbox will power off, power the xbox on again using the power button on the xbox.

EggsBoxJuan's suggestion of making sure to use the console for hard resetting should solve your issue. However, if it doesn't work then you should attempt unplugging your console for a few minutes, then reconnecting and powering on your console.
