    Well, turned out to be the supplied HDMI cable after all, ain't it always the obvious. Don't think I've seen a cable die that quickly before, ach well, many thanks anyway.

    Thanks, tried all those, no escape from the black screen unfortunately. Anything else? As I can't get to any menus, I can't uninstall the game either.

    Thanks for responding so quickly, so just to clarify after turning off the console and turning it back on it still comes back up to the black screen? You can't see your main menu?
