Black screen on new xbox after short play

Hi there, new xbox yesterday, started, updated fine, downloaded Forza Horizon 4 (bundled), drove to the start of the first race then the black screen for the last 4 hours. Any clues? Many thanks.

Xbox One goes black after green loading page

So I power my xbox one on and it goes to the green screen and has three white loading bubbles, after about 10-20 seconds it goes black and I hear the short little noise telling me I'm logged in but my screen stays black. After about 10 seconds of sitting
with the black screen, my xbox just turns off. I've tried hard reseting it by holding the on/off button for 10 seconds but the same problem occurs. Please help.

Paul from the Xbox Forums Team here to assist, it sounds like you're experiencing issue with the game Forza Horizon 4. What I recommend doing is
performing a power cycle on the console as the first step in troubleshooting. If after power cycling the console and the game does not work please uninstall and reinstall the game. I hope this information helps, please let us know how it goes.

Thanks, tried all those, no escape from the black screen unfortunately. Anything else? As I can't get to any menus, I can't uninstall the game either.

Thank you for keeping us updated. Does this only happen on Forza? If so, you may want to post this issue on the

Forza Horizon 4 Forums so that they can investigate.

Is the cables connectes properly? HDMI cable might be slightly loose in the ports.

 

Cable's fine, checked with dvd player.

Thanks for responding so quickly, so just to clarify after turning off the console and turning it back on it still comes back up to the black screen? You can't see your main menu?

You stated this is a new console. Has it been purchased in the last few days? Also you could try a

offline update as to sounds like the OS software may be corrupt. If the console is only a few days old you can try taking back to point of purchase to exchange it, or if you have a Microsoft store in your area take it there to help fix the issue.

If that doesn't work I would suggest taking it back and exchanging it being it is that new. I have had to do it with my Xbox one X when I first purchased.

[Mod Removed - Profanity], it was the hdmi cable after all, the supplied one lasted through setup and 10 minutes of play. All running normally now. I'll go sit on the stupid stool now, thanks.

article to factory reset the console. Please let us know how it goes.
