black screen of death. what do i do?

i just recently moved in to a house, and this is when it stopped working. my xbox is using the same TV that it was using from before. it is using the same cables. it is connected to the same port. my 360 works just fine, but my XB1 wont display anything.

here's what happened step-by-step;

1) turned on the TV and switched to the correct HDMI port.

2) turned on the Xbox One.

3) the screen flickered, and the TV's HDMI port label disappeared for a good 15 seconds. (it sensed a signal)

4) the HDMI port label came back and no signal was displayed, while my Xbox and Kinnect were both lit up.

i just want to play GTA V... come on, Microsoft... how can i fix this?

"Black Screen Of Death " ? I turned around and the screen was black but when the home button is pressed - the dashboard still comes up . Very slow responses . Still will not let me do anything SOSOSOS PLZ SEND HELP WHAT IS HAPPENING

I'm sorry to hear about the black screen issue you're experiencing. Thank you for being super detailed in your post about what's happening. I would first suggest trying out these troubleshooting steps to see if we can get you sorted.

• Power cycle your Xbox One console.
  
• Once the console is off completely, unplug all cords from your console.
  
• Leave everything unplugged for a few minutes.
• Try out a different HDMI cable and plug it in to a different HDMI port on your TV, if possible.
  
• Plug your console and the rest of the cords back in and turn it on.
