Black screen issue with Xbox One X

Hello.

My Xbox One X is relatively new; a replacement console a couple of months ago sent out by Microsoft themselves to rectify an identical problem on an identical model that has now occurred again.

In both instances, the Xbox suffered a freeze, from which it would not respond. On the original console it was while playing Divinity: Original Sin 2, on the current one it was while watching a film on Shudder. A normal reset did not turn the console off, so in both instances I resorted to a hard reset (hold power button for 5 seconds). After doing this, the console will turn on, but result in a black screen.

In both instances, I have attempted the following solutions without resolution:

• hard reset followed by full disconnect of the power cable and left the console and cable idle for 10+ hours.
  
• Graphic setting reset (hold eject & power for 20 seconds until beep)
  
• Use of a different HDMI cable, which has been tested to work with both an Xbox One and a PS4.
  
• Use of a different power cable, which has been tested to work with a PS4 (figure 8, 5amp, 250v, same cable as the one used on another person's Xbox One X)
  
• Use of a different television, which has been tested to work with an Xbox One and a Switch.
  
• Use of other consoles (Xbox One, PS4 & Switch) on the same television and in the same HDMI socket.
  

The original console was plugged into a surge protector, as all my other consoles (including Xbox One) have been for years. When this console experienced issues, I saw that Microsoft recommends a direct wall socket. To that end, the replacement console was assigned its own wall socket.

The Xbox One in question, in both instances, is the Gears of War 5 LE skin. It is still in the original warranty, much less the replacement warranty, so although cashing in a replacement is a hassle, it is an option I will likely have to go to.

I am worried that a replacement has fallen prey to exactly the same issue in such a short time period, and am obviously worried that any further replacement will do the same. Is it coincidence that two machines have died in the same way, or is there possibly something in my setup that has caused it, despite having no ill effects on 5 other consoles? Does anyone know what causes this issue? Is there any potential fix that I have yet to try?
