Black Screen flashing while playing No Mans Sky after update

I’ve also been having a problem with no mans sky where after pushing play the screen goes black but the time and headset icon still stays there and nothing happens i didnt even get any error message. i’ve just stopped playing it completly cause i’ve not
found a fix for it and its been screwing with my other games

OK, it seems definitely heat related. I've played GTA V for about 2 hours yesterday and the screen began to flash again, so and quit the game and started playing Halo 4 to test, same thing happened after a while. To continue the testing I've turned off the
console for about 30 minutes and tested again with Halo and GTA, both worked fine for about one hour them the flashing started again.

Since my console is out of warranty I'm thinking about opening it up to check if the fan and heat sink have dust accumulated on it... perhaps that is the reason for the overheating. Either that or my GPU may be failing...

What do you guys think?

I haven't really played other games for a while, so I can't be sure. But I'll try on Halo 4 tonight to check if the problem occurs as well.

My console and its power source stands on top of a wooden table, nothing on its side or above it, so there is a lot of room for ventilation. Although it's pretty hot this days around here (86°F).

I'll try on the other suggestions, different profile and different console with my HDD, on the weekend and will let you know.

Thanks for the detailed info in your post. We hope to have you gaming properly again soon. To be clear, no other games behave this way? Only GTA V?

Where does the console sit while it's playing? Do both the console & power supply have adequate room for ventilation?

What about trying your copy of the game with your profile & save on a different console?

What about trying a different profile on your console? Any change? What happens?
