Black Screen Flash.

Hi,

Ive posted this in support but Im curious as to how widespread this is. My Xbox flashes a black screen up every so often for a couple of seconds and whilst investigating I found out that it affects users with Sony or Philips tvs.

I have also discovered that a replacement X1 will still do the same.

If your experiencing this then can you post along with your tv brand.(like I have underneath)

Screen flashes black

Since the last update I have noticed my screen flashing black. I have searched the forums and found this issue was common at launch with certain tvs. Idon't have those brands and it just started. Never did find a solution listed but I think the problem
expanded on update. Anyone know the solution?

I will also suggest that the Xbox is plugged directly to house power, it is not supposed to use surge protectors, power strips or extension cords. If at all possible use the same wall socket for the TV as The HDMI signal may be distorted if polarity is not
observed on both the console and the TV. And both the console and the TV should have been purchased in the region they are being used in, power converters if used will be an issue.

 

Mines been doing this a bit recently, and I'm using an LG telly.

 

Mine is an LG Smart, and occasionally recently it's been going to Black when I look at my Friends. Backing out to dash then back in fixes it though.

 

I had this back in December turned out the hdmi lead was not in the back of the xbox properly it's a really poor fit and tends to come lose

 

Xbox engineers are looking into this as they thought it was fixed with an earlier update.

Ill have to post in support section(xbox one console support) that it affects everyone and not just Philips/Sony tv owners.

Just to clarify this can happen anytime no matter what your doing(gaming/apps/home) you get a couple of seconds black screen and no audio. Nothing is paused in the background whilst it happens.

 

I use my Xbox One with a Samsung and have had no such issues.

 

Ps my leads are all plugged in tight.

This happens to me once in a great while on my Toshiba. It's such a rare occurrence that I can't be bothered to go post in the support forums.

 

I get a black screen flash when i turn my speakers on and also when my kitchen light is switched on or off (this really baffles me as the wiring on my home electrics is fine) lol

 

Has been happening to me last couple of weeks off and on.

I am using a Toshiba brand TV.

 

Yes - Older LG Plasma

This happened to me twice last night. I am on an older LG plasma tv. I do have audio and can hear both the game and my party.

NOTE: I have my xbox running through a receiver to the tv. The tv is muted in my scenario.

I had this on my Sony tv. Tried various hdmi leads but that didn't make a difference. It was as if the hd signal was going out of range. This would happen every couple of minutes and in the end I bought another tv and now all is ok.
