    Black Screen after update 22000.1753


    My original XB1 did the Insider update 22000.1753 and after boot would just give a black screen. I read through another post about doing a reboot and a factory reset. I tried both and neither worked. When I attempt to do the factory reset either by USB or using the troubleshooting menu, I get a E106 error. I even tried doing an offline update hoping something would work but then realized this xbox is on an insider preview build. Now my XB1 is stuck in a "Preparing console" cycle where it gets to 5% then fails with an E106 and goes to the troubleshooting menu.

    Anything else that can be recommended or how to downgrade?

    I am probably going to remove this xbox from the insider program so if that is needed to downgrade and get this working again, I am ok with that.

    Just as a heads up, the black screen is normal.

    It should be green splash, black screen then dashboard.

    After a system update, the black screen can remain for a few minutes before you see anything.

    Hi Pat, I’m having this issue after an update also. Did your console immediately go to the black screen or were you getting the black screen immediately after powering it on.

    Does the black screen only happen in Black Ops 2? If so you should try clearing your console cache. If that doesn't help I would look for the update file for Black Ops 2 under settings>console settings>storage>all devices>Games and apps>Black Ops 2, locate
    the update file and delete it. It will re-download the update and hopefully resolve the problem.
