Black screen after start up

    Black screen after start up


    I have tried the hard reset ( unplugging power and then pushing both buttons to power up) but get nothing but the green Xbox screen for approximately 10 seconds. Screen will then turn black and only options I have are holding controller power to get 3 options of power off , controller off and restart. Any ideas on how to get past this in order to try a factory reset?

    Eject any Discs in the xbox tray.

    You can try and reset the HDMI settings by powering off with the hard power off.

    When its turned off, press the power and eject button at the same time, until you hear the on beep.

    Then you should be able to navigate to settings and display and sound.

    Try like 720p, And other RGB Settings. Until you find something that works for you.

    Tried that! The logo and start up screen appears then a black screen so the HDMI is perfect

    Hi Donkeyy,

    Is the xbox HDMI connected directly to the TV?

    In that case try that, and also try another HDMI port on the TV.
