Black screen after start up animation

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

In this case, we just need to reset your console keeping your games and apps through the Xbox Troubleshooter page. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Make sure to follow the steps accordingly to access it:

1. Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.

2. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

3. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

4. Press and hold the Pair button (located on the left side of the console) and the Eject button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.

5. Continue holding the Pair and Eject buttons for 10-15 seconds.

6. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the Pair and Eject buttons after the second power-up tone.

When the console powers up, you will see the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. Please click on "Reset this Xbox" then "Reset and keep my games and apps".

before sending your console to repair service, try this:
- Power cycle:

1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
   
2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
   
   Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
   
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
   
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.
   P.S.: This solution can help you but may be temporary. If you still encounter the Xbox One black screen issue, you can try the following solutions to fix the issue: set the Console to Offline Mode then reboot; switch off Allow 24Hz on Video option.
   

- Perform an offline system update;
- Reset your console to factory defaults then you can easily sync your game saves .

i have the same problem have done all the steps on xbox site and nothing no sound no picture my younger bother has the same problem this has been since the April update.

There was one thread recently where they couldn't get past the green screen and phone support said it needed a repair and they tried resetting the console to factory defaults using the diagnostic tool which brought the console back online for them:

You won't lose your game save data because it's automatically backed up to the cloud, though you might have to reinstall or download some games, though if you ask me that's far better then having to put it in for repair, see how you go.
