Black screen after Green Logo

Hello! Can someone help me please? I have a strange problem with my xbox. After power on there is a green logo as usual and then black screen, no xbox symbols in the center and upright, no dashboard for ages. But! When i press a home button on gamepad for
2-3 sec everything is going fine and dashboard appears. What's that? what am I supposed to do? just ignore this?

You say there was an "error screen" after the first logo, does that mean there was an actual error displayed or are you just referring to the black screen as error screen?

Anyways, I had this issue too and this was caused by unstable internet for me, I don't know how you're connected or whether your network is stable or not, but that was my main issue when I had a blackscreen.

Usually after a cold reboot you will get the green screen and then a black screen. That is intended. Allow the Xbox One to keep booting up for a few minutes if you haven't already left it to continue loading. I suggest leaving it for 5-10 minutes when the
screen goes black to ensure it has had time to do what it is doing.

If you get the error text again, make note of it and contact Microsoft Support.

 

If you haven't already, try a full power cycle and see if it is fixed. Hold the Xbox logo on the front of your console for 10 seconds until it powers down and restart it. Let me know if that works!

 

Hello, same problem for me and a few one on a french forum, we noticed that it began to happen since the last update.

I had this last night I just pressed the power button until it went of and turned it back on it was ok fingers crossed it stays that way since latest update its only been doing it

 

Greetings everyone.

I have only had the console for a little more than 2 months now, and it first appeared for me yesterday morning, right after i had it updated with the latest one and having played for several hours the night before.

As many suspect them, a couple of things that helped me are these:

Full power cycle,

Powering down, then switching the HDMI port with another on the TV (without power cycling),

Booting not from the controller, but from the touch button on the console.

Have you guys heard of more individuals having the same issue since they last updated their systems?

I tried contacting a representative, but the only advise they gave me was to power cycle, and follow the troubleshooting steps aboard the website.

I hope that the next batch of an update, come March, will address this issue, because it starts getting unnerving and frustrating.

Same problem here. Screen remains black until I press the xbox button on the controller. I can't do a comparison between pre / post update because it's been just a few days since I bought my Xbox One. Hope the next update will fix this...
