    I have an original black Xbox One. Starting last Friday, whenever I boot it up, it brings me to a black/gray screen. The "Hi, xxxx" message pops up, and I even get group invites and they appear on the screen. If I hold the X on the controller, even the power menu appears just fine. The green Xbox screen appears just fine too after I do a hard reset.

    I've tried what seems like everything. Different HDMI cable, different HDMI port, hard reset by holding down the Xbox button for 10 seconds, power cycle.

    I've read there was an issue with Microsoft on a recent update to Insider update.

    Help Microsoft? If I have to, I'll do a factory reset but would rather not.

    I am truly sorry about this, but I would highly advise you to follow the instructions mentioned in this link (section: Your screen is blank after you turn on the console/Reset your display settings) => Troubleshooting a blank TV screen or monitor while your Xbox is on | Xbox Support.

    If that doesn't help, you can try a physical reset on the console by following the steps below:

    - Turn off the console unplug all the cables then re-plug them back again.

    - Click on the "Bind" and "Eject" buttons at the same time after 10 seconds click the home "X" button just once without letting go of the two buttons. Throughout the whole process you will hear two beep sounds and end up with a troubleshooting page. On your screen. You will need to select the "Reset this Xbox" option and choose "Reset and keep my games and apps".

    Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

    As for the online support, you can get in touch with an agent through Contact us | Xbox Support after clicking on "contact us" and then choosing the reason for contact. Just make sure that the region on the website matches yours.

    Turn off the console and disconnect the power cord to make sure the console is completely off.

    Plug it back in.

    Press and hold the Pair button and the Eject button at the same time, then press the power button on the console.

    Continue pressing the Pair button and Eject button for 10 to 15 seconds.

    You will hear two "power on" tones after a few seconds.

    You can release the Pair button and Eject button after the second power-up tone.

    This will take you to the troubleshooter, there you will need to reset the console, you can choose the option to keep games and applications.
