Black Ops III not installing

I rented this game this morning. Mind you, this game just came out today so nobody has even touched this disc. I get home to install the game and it gets up to 4% and the installation stops. It doesn't freeze. A message pops up saying "Installation stopped".
Or something like that. I've tried power cycling my console, unplugging it, and disconnecting from the Internet and installing offline. Still, it only gets up to 4%. The disc has no marks on it whatsoever. Is anybody having this problem? I've never seen this
happen before. Hell, I've rented games that were scratched to hell and back and they still installed no problem. Is this a faulty disc or is there something more happening? Don't tell me it's my Xbox either. I installed Halo 5 the other day no problem.

This is happening to me too!! I'm so annoyed! I tried to chat for xbox assistance but it timed out.

 

Try to perform a complete power cycle first. Then try this:

I tried that.. It didn't work.

 

Call of Duty Black Ops III for the 360 is a disaster. My game is basically a stripped down multiplayer with a zombie map tacked on but even that won't work on launch day. Multiplayer allows me to connect to the lobby but no further than that. I can't access
xbox live and I'm not alone. 3 People I know who bought the pre order are having no luck gaming on this defective piece of crap. Activision needs to address this issue because I'm seeing hundreds of angry posts online from people who feel ripped off and are
furious that Activision isn't answering their emails and complaints.

 

So let me see if I understand this, because its happening to me also, BO3 (which just came out) will not install on XBOX 1. It actually stops for me at 3%, I have uninstalled and attempted to reinstall 15 times. My xbox network is not wireless, hardwired
only.

Activation is not responding to my BO3 issues and it appears XBOX is not responding either!

 

Another issue, I notice on third party sites (GearNuke - Daily Dose Of Gaming, Anime And Tech) has said that XBOX has come up with a firmware update to fix BO3. Actually there seem to have been an update from XBOX on Nov 4th and yesterday.
But the last XBOX update I got was Sept 27 (1508.XXX). Also, xbox support site does not mention any updates beyond 1508.

Can I please ask that to start with you uninstall any parts of the game already installed. You can now perform a power cycle on your console. Please follow the instructions below to do this:

1. While the console is turned on, hold the power button for 10 seconds - the console should power off.

2. Wait for 30 seconds, then unplug the power cable from the power outlet.

3. Wait a further 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cable.

4 .Turn on your console. It will take longer than usual to power up.

5. Sign in to your Xbox Live account.

The next thing to do is check for system updates. Please go to Settings>System, and on the left hand column should be an option about system updates. If it is greyed out, it means that your console is up to date.

Now please try to install the game again. Remember that the game may take some time to install, but it shouldn't pause on a particular percentage for more than 30 minutes.

This did not work for me. System status says it's Microsoft's problem. Maybe too many people trying to install the game has crashed the servers. Not sure. Once again waiting for someone at Microsoft to fix a problem!!!

 

I have totally had it with this nonsense. I've been trying to install this game from a brand new disk for over 4 hours. Chat times out, and callback time is over 3 hours. This is ridiculous.

 

I have the same exact problem. I just chatted with an Xbox rep online and somehow managed to get up to 11% after resetting MAC address, power cycling, etc., but still no luck. I don't understand how games these days are having serious launch issues. I understand
multiplayer servers, but installation? Seriously? I've been trying to fix this problem for hours last night when I got the game and this morning.

I went to GameStop earlier today to see if I needed to exchange the disk, but they said it's most likely a problem on Microsoft's side. I tried to push for another disk, but they turned me down. Believe me, I've tried installing and updating at the same
time (as we usually do), uninstalling the game, disconnecting my Xbox from the internet, and installing while offline. Nothing works. I just gave up until this gets resolved somehow.

Trying really hard to not return the game for a refund.

 

I had to go get another disk. After waiting for support to call me, the very rude CSR informed me the disk was bad. I didnt have any problem swapping it with my "local" gamestop. Support didnt seem to care that its a 40 minute ride one way to get there.
And they wouldnt acknowledge that this is a problem.
