Black Ops 3 won't install or download update

Yes to the external hard drive and no to trying the disc on another console. I could ask a workmate but probably won’t get confirmation until Tuesday at the earliest.

What I’ve tried: Uninstalling and reinstalling (making sure this was done on both internal and external hard drives) initially when the first message came up stating the data was possibly corrupted noting error code 0x87e1000c. Looked up the code and there
are two solutions to try.

1. Clear Local Saved Games which I did and the Xbox restarted as it said it would.

2. Install disc offline as an update may be required. This I’ve attempted as well but it stops at 0%. I removed the disc, reinserted it and then it would just sit idle with a kind of low hum and not the typical whirl of a disc. After clicking the BO3 icon
it came up with another message saying the game or app is not ready and wait for the “Ready to Start” notification. I did see that at one point whilst trying to install the disc online, previous to all this there was a 22Gb update. When I did click “Update
Now” it stopped the disc install and then didn’t update itself.

I hope that’s enough information, at least for now. Seeing as one of the first things you mentioned was my ExtHDD I might unplug it and see if the game tries installing on the internal and offline.

Are you using an external hard drive with the console by chance?

Have you tested the disc on another console as well?

Post back with a description of everything you have tried thus far and we will be here to help troubleshoot!

UPDATE and mild fix: I disconnected the extHDD and the game installed successfully on to the Xbox and whilst online so it updated itself as well. Success there!

Now the issue is the Xbox doesn’t recognise the formatted extHDD when I plug it back in. The Xbox was off before I unplugged and it’s not at all different to how I’ve done it in the past or if I unplugged a USB from my PC. Something I’ll have to play around
with I guess.

Let us know how the test on another console and then try that without the HDD attached at all and

offline install.

I'm having this issue as well... I managed to download 3 of the 6 camos for Black Ops 2 but it won't let me download the other 3 :/
