I had the same issue. I noticed when I unplugged my internet from the xbox, I could see the normal start screen. I cycled my router and started my xbox. After I logged into my account, I can get most function back but some of the games are still having
connectivity issues. I guess we have to wait until xbox is able to fix the server issues at this point.

I have the same issue but only while the Xbox is connected to the Internet. Pulled the Ethernet and it still works.
