Black/Frozen Screens when gaming and broken drivers?

Hi my computer is having freezing and crashing issues. for example whenever I entered my password or just interacted with the computer it would start to freeze up and black screen and sometimes, I would have to restart the computer just to have the same thing happen next boot. this issue seems to have resolved itself? now I dont experince any sort of crashing and freezing while idle or just browsing the web.

However, gaming is a whole other story in Apex Legends and destiny 2 whenever I get to the lobby the computer freezes and force closes the game. this also restarts my freezing issues while just browsing because I'm still being bombarded with black screens.

I have a guess that is something to do with the fact that my RTX 4080 driver is co-existing with the basic display adapter. but I can't update or uninstall it but in device manager it shows that there is an error going on with it.

any help?

One thing you could try is to do a completely clean install of the latest drivers.

Download Display Driver Uninstaller here (it's free): -

Download the latest NVIDIA drivers for your 4080 here: -

https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

Then follow these steps: -

Disconnect your PC from the internet
Reboot the PC into Safe Mode
Run Display Driver Uninstaller and choose the "Clean and restart" option
Once the computer has restarted, install the drivers for your 4080
Then you can reconnect to the internet

If that doesn't help, post back with some more info about what you're seeing in Device Manager. Post some screenshots if you can, showing the errors you're seeing.

When you start up your game, does it get frozen on a black screen? Because sounds like to me you're having an issue that I'm also dealing with...

I should add that now any attempt to play the game results in a frozen black screen.

Is anyone else having the problem with a frozen Loading screen with Assassin's Creed Syndicate? I Installed the game It updated fine, but straight after you're in the Animus part of the game (Jacob running around in the white room) It goes to a black loading
screen with the auto save Icon and Is frozen there, Is anyone having similar problems?
