Black Flag Emoji (& Country Regional Codes) displaying instead of Country Flag Emoji

HI EVERYONE,

Firstly, I apologize that this may be in the wrong category. I just didn't know what category this would actually fall under.

I am trying to add the Scottish flag EMOJI to part of my profile on my Xbox profile, however I have come across an issue when searching for the Scottish flag to copy/paste the flag Emoji. I searched for other emojis to see if the issue I'm having extends to other emojis such as smile, sad, cry, apple etc. - but the issue just seems to be with the flag emojis!

I would be expecting to the the Scottish flag being displayed in the Search Results on Google, just like I've seen it displayed there in the past - but even if they weren't displayed there, then I would definitely expect to see said flag displayed within the website itself, yet the issue also follows me to within the website also!

PROBLEM/ISSUE

Instead of seeing the nice Blue & White Scottish Flag, I am being met with a black flag instead. This is also the case for the English & Welsh flags. And were I thought I may see the French & German flags, or evem the USA or UK flags - instead of seeing those flags, I get their country regional codes displayed instead.

Has anyone experienced this sort of issue before, or is anyone actually having this same issue right now too?

Does anyone know what has happened in my case, and know how to resolve this, so that the flag emojis get displayed instead of the black flag or country regional codes? I just want to see the Scottish flag emoji like this one below . . .

. . . which I added the emoji to an e-mail that I was sending myself from my mobile, to view from my PC so that I could then copy/paste the emoji to my Xbox profile - however when I copy/paste the emoji, which does display as the Scottish flag in my e-mail on GMAIL, but when I paste it anywhere else, what is displayed is the Black flag again! I'm totally stumped as to what is going on! HELP, PLEASE!

PS: I use Microsoft Edge, but have checked on other browsers such as Chrome, & the Black Flag & Regional` Code issues are also being displayed on those browsers. I am running Windows 10 Version 21H1. I've cleared all cookies, data etc. & have restarted my PC. I'm fully up-to-date with Windows updates.

I did try contacting support via the Feedback Hub prior to posting my question/issue here, but I keep getting a Please Try Again error all the time.

That is true iFredog, just realized that but it should be noted that Edge and Feedbackhub aren't working as they should.

So best to still do a in-place upgrade.

but the Rising Sun is still used on the Japanese Military Flag.

It is, but it's not the same flag, it's a different design. But regardless of the different design, whether it has a gold border with 8 rays instead of 16, it is still controversial in East Asia over Japan's actions in WW2.

Plus, it is still used by right wing groups in Japan. Microsoft's policy is to be 'E' for 'Everyone', to that end, it does not allow the use of images or symbols that can be offensive to some users. The American Flag is not offensive, the Confederate flag
likely will cause offence though.

all flags are offensive to some countries, the american flag is offensive in a lot of countries and so is the uk flag, the list could go on and on, you cant discriminate against people if they are right wing or left wing.
