    Black bars on side of Live TV


    Hello,

    I have an **** (Charter Communications) cable box and a Sanyo tv, and when I use OneGuide for my tv, there are thick black bars on the left and right of the screen, cutting off my picture. I have changed the settings on the Xbox One and on the tv, and the
    bars are still there. Is there a fix??

    Huge problem watching live TV through my Xbox One with this new TV.

    Now it is not working on any TV I try after working on other TVs for a little bit. Black bars now appear on the sides of all the TVs when trying to watch TV through the Xbox.

    Hey there Chery! Just to confirm, you are seeing black bars on the sides or the top and bottom of the picture? If on the sides, you would need to set it to HDTV to access Widescreen. Is your 18" TV and HDTV? Please let us know, thanks!

    Changing Aspect Ratio and/or Resolution

    21:9 aspect ratio is currently not supported.

    You can only get 1920x1080 and set your TV to 16:9 and have black bars on the sides to avoid the stretching your TV will do to the 16:9 signal.

    Hey there demonicale!

    The black bars on each side of the screen are just the resolution that your TV is set to. You can adjust your TV while the DVD is playing to have it stretch to fit the entire screen, if you'd like.

    TV display Settings & Skyrim Brightness.

    tv setting depends on your individual TV, no one can help you with their settings.....just try to find some test images for brightness and contrast and go from there (since they are the 2 most important settings). i never have to change in-game brightness
    settings cause i have calibrated my TV. a tip for brightness, if you can change your TV's aspect ratio to 4:3 then find/create a all black image with your Tv's resolution and then bring the brightness up until you see the difference between the middle picture
    and the bars on the side(bars are there cause of the 4:3 aspect ratio)
