Bizarre...!! Media Center loads my movies but does not play anymore!!

Not one week ago I was happily playing movies via Media Center on my xbox 360 (as I have been for the past year). From one day to the next it will not work anymore. I haven't made any changes to my configuration (hardware or software) nor have I changed
any settings on either my xbox or computer.

I can launch media center from the xbox and it will conect to the computer - it will show me my library and let me select a movie for viewing - it then proceeds to buffer for playback but will not actually scroll. It just loads the file and stalls. I can
forward through the movie using the remote and the status bar will show the cursor moving ahead in time but again it will not play...just stalls.

I've gone through windows firewall (Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64) and made sure media center had permission to go through. I'm using Avast Free. I've tried a clean boot. I've gone through pretty much everything I can find in this forum and others but no
one seems to have this problem in partiucular. Mainly talk of connection issues which I don't have.

Streaming Movies

well besides the windows media center theres only one other way to stream movies from my PC to my xbox, an I think its called the
windows media sharing via windows media player, for some reason it shuts off about halfway through a movie and I will have to rebot my router to get my conection back not only for the xbox but my whole network. I have it running through the
windows media center now an I will see if it can play a whole movie without this problem, the only reason why i dont like the media center is that it has no options to fast forward or resume play its just stop an go from the start.

 

Xbox won't see my computer but my media player detects my xbox

Like I previously posted I have shut down all firewall software and also I'm not using Media Center to stream my movies.... I am working through media player 11.
