Bitstream Audio DTS / DD cannot get center channel to play audio with HDMI passthrough

I have a Dennon AVR3313 that supports both DTS / DD. When I play my DirectTV receiver via TV passthrough I cannot get the center channel to play.

I have tried every setting on my receiver (yes my center channel plays test tone), along with every setting on the xbox audio settings.

    Any ideas?

    :)

  2. Connecting Windows 8.1 HTPC to Xbox One

Bump this....I also have a HTPC that I'd love to get passthrough working properly. Even with the "beta" surround on I can only pass 2 channels from the PC. Supported formats only list Dolby Digital, no DTS or any HD formats.

I have DTS, DD, DD True HD, and DTS-HD files I'd love to play....hopefully they're working on a solution. Just a straight bitstream passthrough would work!

  3. Need serious help with Audio settings please

The issue is your tv is unable to decode the 5.1 over HDMI. There are 5 channels of audio plus 1 channel for subwoofer they go in this order (Left, right, center, Surround Left, Surround Right). Since your TV is only stereo it's only playing channels 1 and
2, left and right, and commentary is obviously on channel 3 center. Some TV can Downmix, where they take all 5 channels and mix them into 2 stereo channels.

What I would do is set the HDMI back to Stereo so you get the correct 2 channels of audio(the Xbox does the downmix) and then since you are using optical to your surround sound system, set optical to Bitstream and DD 5.1 or DTS is your system supports it.

Bitstream Audio DTS / DD cannot get center channel to play audio with HDMI passthrough

Surround sound is disabled by default for the HDMI input. You need to go to Settings, TV & OneGuide, Troubleshooting, Audio to enable the surround sound beta.

Is your setup Xbox to receiver via HDMI? Or is the sound going through your TV first?
