Birthday...

So it seems I'm very limited to what my daughter and I can do with her account. I set it up for her, and she's getting an Xbox One for Christmas, but she's not going to be able to Skype due to Age. Is there a way I can get her birthday changed so that I
can actually game and chat with my own daughter when she is at her mothers?

Or if not, is there a way I can make a new Gamertag, get her old one merged into her new one, to allow her to keep her Gamerscore/Xbox Live Gold? Or Just create a new one and get her Gold transferred over, and then her old one deleted so I can change her
Gamertag back to her old name?

once signed in go to "Your info" and then "edit personal info" change the DOB there.

there is no way at the moment to transfer Gamerscore to other accounts, you can share gold by setting the xbox one she uses to "my home xbox"

Xbox live accounts cannot be deleted from Xbox live altogether just from the system, if a new gamertag is created your daughter will need to have a new gamertag, if you want to use the current gamertag you will need to change that one and that will cost
you money.

Nope...her birthday is set in stone. Is that something that Xbox can change if I call them?

 

Unfortunately no. Once an account is created, there is no way to change the birthdate.

 

I just spent 2 hours on a chat session with a Microsoft technician only to get the same answer, "You can't rectify an errant birthdate in a profile." This prevents me from maintaining any parental controls on my kids' accounts without creating new ones,
which would blow away all their progress on their games. Come on, Microsoft. There's got to be a better way. Apple and Facebook let their account holders change their birthdates. Why can't you?

 

They don't let the account holders change their DOBs as this would allow the children to change their DOB on their account and subvert any age restrictions their parents may have set up with Parental Controls.

In normal life, you tend not to change your DOB.

To verify, a child account can't change their birthday, but an adult account CAN change their birthday if they so wish. I CAN change the birthday that's associated with my account, I CAN'T change the birthday associated with my daughter's child account.
