Bioshock and Bioshock2 Are they as good as Bioshock Infinite?

If the gameplay is awful, then there shouldn't be any praise for the first game then. If people are praising the story or atmosphere as the only good qualities of Bioshock, then the games have bigger problems and people should have their priorities straight.
Bioshock isn't The Walking Dead--it can't sustain itself merely on the narrative alone.

In fact, Bisohock 2 probably does the story and gamepaly integration just as well--if not better--than one. let's not forget that the handling of the Little Sisters was crap in the first game but not only are they expanded but much meaningful when you consider
the Parent Dynamic that the game puts forth. Hell, it's a lot better than what Infinite does in that department.

Bioshock is a well-rounded story and gameplay experience whereas Bioshock 2's gameplay was turned up (I love the drill) and was more action, but had a far less engaging story.

Both are EASILY worth $5. I wouldn't think twice about it.

I actually loved the gameplay of Bioshock, switching between plasmids and weapons actually took skill IMO. You were always thinking about how you're going to enter a fight where as it didn't matter as much in 2 and infinite. Also I miss that crossbow, sure
you got the harpoon in 2, but wasn't the same.

Fun factor was MUCH higher in 1 and 2. I did not like infinite. Like Chuck Norris, I don't have opinions, I only state facts.

Watch BioShock go free next month. I didn't buy it because I honestly think it'll be free at some point.

I wish people stop ripping on bioshock 2. The combat is much better and the story isn't bad at all...it's just not as good as the original bioshock. I loved the do anything necessary to get your daughter back kind of story. Haven't played infinite tho.

@Pyramid Head - Because Bioshocks gameplay is awful. In all three games. It's a very average shooter. What makes the Bioshock series so enjoyable and well liked is the atmosphere and story. The story in Bioshock 2 was terrible. There was no originality in
the atmosphere since we played in the same old world again. It felt like a direct-to-video sequel to some of Disneys movies. What makes Bioshock so good, wasn't there in the sequel.

Defy Lightning

I say yes. I loved 2 and Infinite. Apparently, 1 is better than both of them combined. 1 and 2 play very similarly to Infinite but note that they're different settings so you're not flying around owning some kids in their faces like you are in Infinite.

Rapture is more darker and just as awesome as Infinite's Columbia. I would definitely get both games while they're on sale. I actually was thinking about getting the first BioShock too while it's on sale and see what all the fuss is about. My problem is
that I just keep my backlog of games growing, but 5 dollars is just so hard to pass up. XD

Definitely get the original Bioshock! I haven't played 2 but heard it was just ok. For $5 you really can't beat that so my vote is for the original if nothing else.
