Billing Payment not working

Alright so I'm trying to buy one of the free games that is allowed by having xbox live gold but every time I try to buy it it says "Please add a valid payment instrument." I don't understand because I have a credit card billing payment option added.

Xbox Live Gold Subscription Issue

If this hasn't been resolved yet, simply go into the billing, manage payment options, click to edit the card, then save it. This will cause the card to get reverified in order for them to allow it for payment. The reason it was declined was they tried charging you $21 for something, but when it was received multiple times as declined/rejected due to funds, the payment method was locked and declined until it can be reverified.

In any case that what you are trying to claim was an Xbox 360 version kind of game and you were using an Xbox One console, I'm afraid this won't work. You'll need to claim the license of any Xbox 360 version game using an Xbox 360 console. Even if the said
game is backward compatible with Xbox One, all Xbox 360 licenses can only be obtained by using an Xbox 360 console. Once you've done this, it would surely appear in your Ready to Install section in Xbox One.

If this is for an Xbox 360 game, a credit card is required but it will not be charged. Just make sure that the payment option region added matches the region of your Xbox Live account.

Can you try some other payment mode such as another credit card or paypal and clear your due balance? You can turn off automatic renewal if you do not want it to be renewed.

Check the email's associated with all the gamertags on the console.

They all send a confirmed purchase notification to the emails.

When you cancel subscrption it will cancel all your services if you are a ultimate subscriber ive got near a year to go with mine with hopeing to stay alive im disabled with health problems ive stopped auto renew at the moment as i dont know if ill stilll
