Billing Date and Gold Cancellation

Hi!

Yes, I was billed the standard monthly fee of $9.99 on Oct 10, and then my subscription was cancelled five days later on Oct 15.

I have checked Microsoft Account Services, and the subscription is not active. It says "Expired 10/15/2018" and gives me an option to renew.

That's odd since the subscription should have automatically renewed on the 16th based on what you described if your current subscription was set to auto renew which it seems like it was. The subscription may have been cancelled in error, but only Xbox Customer
Support will be able to tell you what happened with your subscription since we cannot handle sensitive account information here on the forums as we don't have any of the proper tools customer support does. Here is how to request a callback:

1. Contact us here
2. Select My account
3. Select See other options.
4. Select Error Messages and codes.
5. Select show contact options and go to step 4
6. Select request a callback from support

There is no need to cancel ultimate since it includes Gold. I recommend putting a calendar event to remind you to cancel before the expiration date so you are not charged, if you are on recurring billing.

Yes, there are often offers on the price of the gold membership, but it is for the silver users. I prefer put a reminder on the billing date and cancel before the payment is charged.
