    Billed for no reason


    I cancelled my Gold subscription a couple of weeks ago, but was billed on September 2nd with no explanation. I then received an email saying my "subscription was canceled on September-03-14".

    This has to be a mistake. I can't imagine it is Microsoft's policy to intentionally hold off on allowing users to cancel a subscription until they can be billed one last time. Even if it was for some reason not possible to cancel the subscription at the
    time I did so -- and this didn't seem to be the case, but hypothetically -- it just doesn't make sense to charge somebody and then immediately cancel their service.

    Because I had already canceled the subscription and was not expecting to be billed, the PayPal instant transfer and additional fee pulling money out of my bank account put me into overdraft for the day, resulting in another fee. In total, I am out $17.69
    CAD because I was billed for an extra month of a service I had canceled and can't use.

    Hi there,

    If you've followed all the steps here (support.xbox.com/.../billing-and-memberships-solution) to cancel the automatic payment with no luck,
    then it's best to contact phone support in your region so they can assist. They will be able to look into your account and keep your personal information private.

    Im currently working a lot right now and I haven't had a chance to get on so I canceled my billing but every month im being billed from Microsoft and I don't know how to stop this. But I had my 12 month prepaid still on my account though. Can anyone help
    me resolve this?

    Sorry for the issue, but you will have to contact Customer Support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX. No one on the forums can fix this problem.

    To really see if your current subscription is not on auto renewal and ask a refund for it, please go to:
    https://account.microsoft.com/services/

    Find the subscription and select Payment & billing > Cancel. If you don't see your subscription, make sure you are signed in to the correct Microsoft account for that subscription.

    You are then provided with a choice to “End now and get a refund", to "cancel immediately", or “Don’t charge my subscription again".

    Choose "End now and get a refund", then select Next.

    The next page reminds you what you'll lose if you cancel your subscription. Take a moment to review this information to ensure you don't need the features listed.

    If you’re sure that you want to cancel, then Click on Continue cancellation. Check your inbox for a confirmation email.

    You may cancel a subscription and get a refund within 30 days of purchase, or within 30 days of initial purchase for a recurring subscription.

    So in this case I would recommend that you contact Xbox Support by requesting a call back or chat so that the support advocate can check the account for you. They may also be able to locate and remove the card from where they stem from, but it is not guaranteed:
