BF3 Backwards compatibility download issue

I am trying to download Battlefield 3 onto my Xbox. It is free for gold members this month. I have a credit card on my Xbox, an active gold membership, an online connection, and I am not banned. When I got to download it, it says that it is free to download,
so I click install. When I do this it says that "My account is unable to make this type of purchase on xbox.com. Please make this purchase on your xbox." Please help me fix this. I am on the xbox game store ON THE XBOX ONE! NOT THE STORE ON XBOX.COM. Please
guide me to fix this. Thanks.

the retail version of bf3 is Backward Compatible.

Bought a Game of Xbox store from my 360

Hi, the game is currently not compatible yet. Once it is I'm sure you will be able to download it to your xbox one. Keep checking this page

Hi,

Currently this game can not be downloaded directly from the Xbox One Marketplace on the console. To add it to your account you need to search for it on the website. Click the 'Buy' button (it's still free) and follow the instructions on screen.

If the game does not appear on your 'Ready to Install' section (mine didn't), do a console re-start from settings.

This sounds like an issue with a Child Account that is managed under a Parent account. I deal with this same issue with a sub Child account. If your account is a child account you will have to make this free purchase using a Xbox 360 console only. For
some reason this is the only way to make this work, I do this with 2 Child accounts for my Grand children I manage. And it does not matter what your age is, if the account is a child account under another account you still have to make this purchase with
the 360 console.

Well BC2 and BF3 are backward compatible. NAM was a full server yesterday when I played. 12vs12.

As some additional information. to the answer already specified.

The backward compatible game while it is the same game the download is basically different version of the game, being the backward compatible version of the game. This is also the reason why inserting a backward compatible game via disc will result in the
backward compatible version being downloaded (disk is still required to start the game)

So in order for you to download that backward compatible version you will have to login to the Xbox Live Account that is used on the 360, which allows you to download backward compatible games that you own.
