BEWARE XBOX LIVE FRIENDS--I was a Victim of an Xbox One Preview Invite Scam

Some guy on an Xbox forum told me to add him as a friend and that he would send me an invite for Xbox One Preview. After I added him and asked for the invite, he then asked me to follow his Twitch site and to donate money and that he would "instantly" send
me the invite. Well i followed him and made a donation. He never sent the invite and Xbox folks confirmed that he didn't. Beware of the scammers out there.

The Xbox folks said they can't send me the invite internally (which is hard to believe), but that if I posted this on this forum that maybe one nice Preview member would send me the invite and not request money since Preview members are generally nice and
would be supportive of welcoming me to the Preview community!

So, if anyone is a member of Xbox One Preview, would love an invite. Would mean a lot! My gamer tag is:

i get on xbox live only to learn that this[Mod Removed], scamed my brother and my friend, he got the primetime and bossted rod and he is using them as scam bait... please beware..

Ok, so the Xbox One preview. I know that the participants can send a invite to any of there friends. When a friend invites you, you can register for the preview after a certain verification then you can be invited ( so it is not a guarantee you will get
invited) the Xbox One preview.

So if you have any friends that are participating in the preview you can ask them if they want to invite you.

But keep in mind that being invited does not guarantee you will be accepted to the program and Microsoft only has a limited number of spaces left. So you may not be accepted.

 

Thanks Smwutches. I will post on that thread, but also want to keep this one up so people are aware of the scammers out trying to steal money from honest people.

 

Seriously, you should never give money to anybody like that. Watch out for Nigerian princes while you're at it.

 

You were seriously willing to pay money to become a beta tester?! Why don't you just wait a couple months for the update to drop?

 

You can't even get into the preview anymore or you'll have to be very lucky
