  1. Beware of putting money into your Xbox Live account

What is the point of having money in your Xbox Live account, when it is so difficult to use it. Recently been frustrated twice in trying to use money in my account:

    1) I wanted to transfer some funds from my account to my son's account (he is 9 so I manage his account) only to be told that this was not possible. I don't really want to be putting my credit card details on his account for obvious reasons. He can share
games I purchase on the Xbox, but in this particular case he wanted credit to make in-game purchases under his own gamer tag.

    2) Tried to buy Xbox 360 backwards compatible games (Lego Pirates of the Caribbean - so no age related issues there) only to be told I had no valid payment options despite a healthy balance in my Xbox Live account.

It's extremely irritating, so beware of putting money in your account.

    :)

  2. Beware of your account!

Please read!!!! Was playing Forza 5 tonight and came to a point in the game that i was offered to buy a car in game. ...,..,.,,.,Chose the car and all of a sudden I was prompted to buy a package (mid game) for $49.99 of actual money. I went through the
prompts and realized no security code was needed to make purchase (i did not make the purchase for the expensive pack but did buy an individual car and was never asked for a password or my 3 digit pin on the back of my card). I called xbox about this issue
but the customer support person said this was normal as a password is needed to login to the account so there was no need to ask for a password to access my personal bank account. I find this to be a major issue that should be resolved . This gives the abilty
for anyones child to simply hit 2 buttons to make a purchase for hundreds of dollars. This needs to be stopped and a security feature really needs to be put in place. Please let this problem be heard!!!!!

    Beware of your account!

You can set an option to disable purchasing from your xbox. You should keep your young children on non-connected GT's until they understand they shouldn't do that.

Beware of putting money into your Xbox Live account

I understand your frustration yet the rules are clear:

    1) Even if you could pass credit on your son's account he can't make purchases from a minor's account

    2) You can purchase 360 xbox games with BC only through a credit card

    Hope you understand!

He can only make xbox one purchases with parental prrmissions

Xbox one parental permission doesn't apply to xbox 460 games there is no unrestricted setting on 360

You would have to make it on a 369 or use your account

You can put credit on. Your sons account in the former of a prepaid currency but not on a 360 game only one gamrs

It has never been possible to transfer funds on any system except when we had the family accounts which ended awhile ago

As mentioned by the previous poster he cannot have made the purchase anywyss because he is a minor

The minimum age for an xbox live account is 13 FYI that includes copa requirementz

The prevention of transfer of funds reduces the likely hood of anyone using their accounts in a way not intended like selling currency or accounts or if an account gets compromised the less likely a phisher can profit from it by stealing income

  7. I certainly don't understand why I can't make purchases of 360 games with BC using funds in my account. why do I need to use a credit card when I have funds in my account? Never mind if it's the "rules" - What is the logic?

  8. Beware of putting money into your Xbox Live account

Hey, FloatingKruger! The logic is that when Microsoft Points turned into Microsoft Currency, the website would not accept the currency for Xbox 360 games (though an Xbox 360 will allow currency to be used). This happened back in 2012. The Xbox One BC games
use the same source as the website. Thus, you need to have a credit card on file to make purchases for Xbox 360 games while on your Xbox One and the xbox.com website.

There used to be the Xbox Family Pack where you could give your child accounts points, however that has been retired for a few years now. The best way to get currency onto your son's account is by purchasing a currency card from a retailer or the
Microsoft Store, and then put the 25-digit code onto his account.

Hopefully that clears up the situation with currency and purchasing Xbox 360 games. Let me know if you have further questions that I can assist you with. Beware of putting money into your Xbox Live account :D
