    I've never have ventilation problems on Xbox, but you will lost te guarrantee if you open the case

    I imagine you'd get more dust on crucial components of the hardware if you did that, plus you would void any warranty you have on your device so i would not recommend this.

    Think of the Xbox like a PC. You don't want all those components opened up to the air where a bunch of dust can get on it. Not to mention opening the case breaks warranty. If placed properly the Xbox will have plenty of ventilation...however if you're
    determined there's sites where you can learn to make custom cases but it's generally a good idea to keep your electronics enclosed.

    It should be able to vent fine through the vents in the casing, without having to remove it. The danger of removing it is that any dust in the air can settle into the components in the device, and it has more danger of being ruined if drinks etc are spilled
    in the area. While you can use it without a case, I wouldn't recommend it. Also if it is still under warranty, this will void that.
