Better modding support for games on the Xbox PC app

Last month I signed the PC gamepass service, it was very satisfying as there are a lot of games I wanted to play. But something that can really frustrate me about this is that the games files are totally protected as are windows files. And that affects modding, which is one of the things I like the most, very negatively. Such as modding The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, although there is a modding support for this game on the app, it still prevents some of the most popular mods in the community from working because those modify deeply the game files. Now my frustration is about Subnautica Below Zero. I played the normal Subnautica at another platform with mods and it was really fun, now I downloaded Below Zero and right after went for creating a modpack for me. When I finished creating the modpack after more than an hour, I discouvered that the app doesn't provide modding support for the game. I think it would be way better for everyone to not have these file protections, just as any other gaming platform/launcher for PC available out there, but if for any reason it "can not be possible", at least there should be modding support for every game on the app, and also it should be a total support, that doesn't prevent the popular mods from Skyrim from working.

    :)

Xbox is a secure encrypted platform, modding is controlled by the developers, which in part is required by their ESRB rating. This also applies to the PC version.

If you think this isn’t a problem, I recommend you the “Hot Coffee” controversy, where a never completed and walled off section of the game was exposed by modders.

All games are full of such things, as deleting them from the game can cause catastrophic and unforeseen issues. I have seen many, many Skyrim mods that would violate even its M rating.

The current system is the only way to enable mods on the platform, which is unlikely to change

    The files are encrypted.

The only way to mod support is simple you MUST use offically supported methods not third party websites

Usually ingame store or marketplace not websites

That's why I brought up this discussion, there are very few games with supported modding methods out there, but there are plenty third party websites that are renowned, trustful, regulated and that have a lot of free and enjoyable content. I think the Xbox app should provide a service similar to other gaming launchers, not imposing this limitations which, in my lay view, simply just act as limitations and not something beneficial. I want to feel that I'm playing on a PC, not that I'm playing on a console in my PC.

I knew this controversy and I understand the thoughts you pointed out. But about other PC gaming platforms and how the game files are disposed there, are they also encrypted like it is on the Xbox app? I know that I can do modding more freely there, so is it more likely to happen the "Hot Coffee" kind of controversy with the games in there? I suppose that one of these assumptions are correct: either the other platforms have better systems to protect files, that prevent such controversy files to never come to light but at the same time don't affect modding so much; or nowadays games developing is more cautious about such controversy files and don't happen to let these in the game on the release version anymore. I know it happens that developers still let hidden and disabled features in games, but I think it's not of the kind that they would be concerned about if it is leaked someday.

And about the improper Skyrim mods, I know that this kind of occurence is common when modding is deliberately free, but going back to what I said previously, there are third party websites committed to maintaining a proper gaming experience regarding modding, that are renowned for its seriousness and regulations, that prevent improper mods from being uploaded. One example is Nexus Mods, likely the most popular modding website, that also provides Skyrim mods and the most popular Skyrim mods, but can only be installed on the game if it's not from the Xbox app.
