    Beta test update for Xbox one X, auto shutoff for overheat issue


    My Xbox keeps auto shutting off for stated overheating issue, but it's cool to the touch and does this only 5 mins approx. after being on. Told it's possible update issue since there is no hardware noises and approximately 4-6 inches of space in open area all around the Xbox. Only started happening after new update. Also in system updates and download it states "Latest Status "Update failed (0x8B0500B6)"

    Please see this link on How to position and ventilate your Xbox console.

    Also If your console shuts down unexpectedly, try one of the following solutions.

    • The console may be too hot. Turn the console off, wait for an hour to let it cool, then turn the console back on (also make sure your console is in a well-ventilated spot).
    • Troubleshoot your power supply. See Your Xbox One console won’t turn on.
    • Change the console settings so it doesn’t turn off automatically:
      1. Turn on the console.
      2. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
      3. Select System > Settings > General > Power mode & startup.
      4. Under Options, set Turn off after to Don’t turn off automatically.
