Best modem/router or router for multiple Xbox One consoles on same network

Hey guys, I've got multiple Xbox One consoles as well as Playstation 4 and I'm unable to obtain multiple OPEN NAT with the modem/router combo provided by Comcast. It's an **** TG1682G and I've already confirmed these will not work with multiple consoles
with the settings they provide. Right now, I can get the main console to be open either through DMZ or port forwarding, but this will only work with one dedicated IP address.

Basically, I'm wondering if I should pick up another modem/router combo that will give me multiple consoles with OPEN NAT and no monthly rental fee from comcast. OR, bridge this **** and use it as a modem only and just add another router with better
UPnP to allow multiple consoles.



Any info from multiple console users would be appreciated, as well as suggestions for a new modem/router or router to run in line with my current modem/router after it's bridged.

Need help with xbox live

My xbox(s) have been messin up lately, The wireless one used to do this alot but now my hard wired one right to the router doesnt like connecting have the time even tho we have internet going.. i think there is issues with XBL period lately. Best bet man is unplug your router and modem, wait a min then plug just your modem.. let it turn on and go online, then plug in your router. reset ur box and see if it works

You have 2 xbox ones on the same network ? What kind of modem and router are you using ? Router must support multiple consoles or your Xboxs will just fight over ports. ..

 

You are definitely headed down the right path. My suggestion would be to bridge that Arris and purchase a top of the line home router such as Netgear or Linksys. That seems to be the best configuration for gaming with multiple consoles.

 

See how much you pay for the arris monthly. You could give that back and get your own modem ...no on a gateway (modem and router) also would strongly suggest you run cable and hardwire them...

 

I have the main console hard wired in the living room which is where the gateway sits. The other xb1 is downstairs and the ps4 upstairs so both are quite a ways away and would have to drill through walls for hard wire.

I will either buy a modem and seperate router or I will continue to rent the Arris from Comcast and use it as a bridge to a better router. Looks like I'm headed to Microcenter.

 

ps4 is ok wireless since it only one ...you maybe ok with one wired and one wireless....good luck!
