    When I heard that we could get an external HD for the xbox one I jumped at the chance of finding one that would work and look good next to my xbox.. I was successful in doing so and for those people who are new or just still no sure on which external
    to get id recommend on getting the

    Seagate STBV4000200 Expansion 4TB USB 3.0 3.5 inch External Hard Drive

    The price does vary from £109.00 to £120.00 and that's for the 4tb one. Which I bought from ebuyer and was here next day.

    Which to buy, the 500gb or 1TB?

    The best advice you have been given is purchase an External HD.

    Get one with it's own power supply so it doesn't suck juice from your XBox One and a friend in IT recommends Western Digital as probably the best brand out there (I have the Seagate one myself).

    Games are big and take up a lot of space. You're going to want at least a 2TB external HD and I'd recommend 3 - 4TB myself.

    So your best option would probably be the 500MB one because it's cheaper and get a quality decent sized external HD.

    Xbox One External HD

    Hello, Once an external HD is formatted to my Xbox One can instill use it for my PC? Or is my 3TB External HD a now permanent attachment for my Xbox One? Also this is a never been used before 3TB External HD. My Xbox One is saying there's only 2.7TB free.
    Is that the limit or is there a problem? Thanks!

    I bought this one when I heard it was the same one that Major Nelson had been using before it was released to the general public.

    Mine has been working fine and doing it's job great.

    Regarding HDD purchase.

    no your best bet is either offical microsoft xbox s HDs or usb drives as external hds are still limited to 16gigs

    Hi AyeYaya,

    It sounds that the external HD may have gotten corrupted causing the Xbox One to shutdown since you are able to use the console fine without the external HD plugged in.

    Do you happen to have another external HD that meets the requirements for testing purposes? Or would you happen to be able to try that HD on another Xbox?

    You may need to delete what you have on there, re-format the HD for the Xbox One, and then download what you had on there again.
