    So I was wondering what's a good dns setting for the best gaming experience right now I'm running 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4 but is there any better settings? And I live in New Mexico thanks

    I can't play any of my multiplayer games without some error

    I just used Namebench to find out what's the best DNS server I could use, turns out my primary DNS was in 4th place and I had to use a better one. So I did, but there isn't much of a difference online. The Google DNS server wasn't even in the list of best
    DNS servers I could use. So I'm all out of options here.

    Hello Anne!

    The DNS history would be the recording of any/all DNS servers used. An example of this would be Google's DNS: Primary 8.8.8.8, secondary 8.8.4.4.

    The flushing of said DNS server history as given by Leslie, will assist in clearing up the DNS.

    Attempt to follow the steps and let us know if this works.

    Your DNS shouldn't really affect gaming that much, GoogleDNS which your using is a good one. If you really want to use a different one you can always choose a publicly available DNS like OpenDNS 208.67.222.222 - 208.67.220.220 or you can pay for a private
    DNS.

    Latency Issues

    Are both (the pc and the XBOX connected the same way (meaning either both wired or wireless directly to the router/modem?

    Are both getting the same DHCP settings from the router/modem? Is the modem/router using the isp DNS servers? (i.e 75.75.75.75?)

    On the PC you can test via DNS benchmark which DNS servers may work best for you (the utility allows you to customize the DNS server list)

    Googles is- DNS Preferred Server: 8.8.8.8

    DNS Secondary Server: 8.8.4.4
