For any game, I always thought the standard Xbox One controller was fine...

The
Xbox One Elite controller has the option of switching out joysticks for different types, which might be something you're looking for. It is a bit pricy at $150, but it has a lot of customizable features.

This shows the recharge kit you can get. So this will be similar to 360 controller.

Well you state your preference what controller on a MS Xbox site what do you expect? Truth be told a true gamer doesn't buy his/her system based on a controller...do you build your pc based around your keyboard/controller? NO, you adapt to your keyboard/controller
to play the games you like...the xbox one media box will be sub-par in gaming, all these so called 300,000 servers running on peoples mediocre internet will be filled with tv app progs/media app progs/subscribe here, pay here, eating away most of those. Leave
whats left for the gamers and their servers I'm sure. The controller you love im sure one day i'll have my ps4 that will allow me to use it

probably sooner then you think, but i'll be doing it on an actual gaming rig system with higher end graphics/ram/processor.
So I cant say "PLAYSTATION ON" once every 24 hours or "PLAYSTATION off once every 24 hours...think i'd get tired of saying that after awhile... LOL EVERYNIGHT xbox off, xbox on, xbox off...a year or 2 from now people are going to be tired of talking to their
machines ROFL". If i have to adapt to ps4 controller to continue gaming and not sell out to MS and their greed then fine.

regarding the ds4, i guess i will have to try it. from the pictures ive seen the shape and size is just about the same, which was horrible for using the analog sticks.

to me the dual shock is fundamentally flawed. they just took the original ps1 controller and threw analog sticks on it where they could fit. ergonomically it has never really worked. but according to that one dev its not suddenly better then an x360 controller.
i really cant see how, but i havent picked one up.

to me the xbox controller format is as good as it is going to get for a twin stick controller. i mean there are tweaks here and there, but the overall format is done. i think that is why even nintendo copied it with the wii u.

The thing is we've had a number of developers say they now prefer the Dualshock 4 for this generation of systems:

I'll still be reserving judgement until I get some decent play time with both, but it is starting to sound like both pads will be decent this time around.

That controller looks rad. PS3 controllers have great D-pads, but I hate the thumb sticks. My fingers slide off them, but I have big hands. The 360 controller is the best controller I have ever used and the new one looks way better.
