BENQ EX3203R on Xbox One X

Ok, trying to revive what seems to be an old question. Trying to get 1440p and 120Hz working on console.

BENQ can do 1440p at 144Hz and 120Hz. I have had 120Hz working at that resolution on my PC.

Xbox in auto detect mode reports that my monitor is 4k (weird) and only allows 4k and 1080p. Freesync
    does work in this scenario.

When I switch to manual and choose HDMI, I can select 1440p 60Hz or 1080p 120Hz but cant mix 1440p and 120Hz.

When I choose 1080p 120Hz I dont think HDR is working.

I would think that this is a Microsoft issue since it doesn't auto-detect that my monitor cant do 4k.

    Thoughts?

    :)

BENQ EX3203R on Xbox One X

Hello i am having the same issue here. And i do see that the monitor supports these outputs. I have posted and cannot get a straight answer. Can someone please look into this as the Xbox One X settings will change my settings to 1080p 120 hz when I select
the 1440p 120hz option available when using my HDMI 2.0 port on the monitor utilizing a HDMI 2.0 cable:

    Monoprice 27in Zero-G Gaming Monitor – 2560x1440p, WQHD, 144Hz, 1ms, FreeSync, HDR Support, 400nits, HDMI, DisplayPort, TN

If someone from Microsoft can please assist as this is very frustrating and leaning towards me not purchasing an Xbox series X this fall, in addition I am considering posting a youtube video for viewers to be aware of this matter.

This is the actual monitor specs please read the port supports provided.

    https://downloads.monoprice.com/files/manuals/38576_Manual_190408.pdf

    support:

    HDMI 2.0: 50 ~ 144 Hz

    HDMI 1.4: 50 ~ 75 Hz

    DisplayPort 1.2: 50 ~ 144 H

I even tested the HDMI 2.0 port into my pc/windows 10 and in fact the resolution was set to 2560 x 1440p and I was able to toggle changes between 60hz, 75hz, 120hz, and 144hz with no problem and acceptance in the display settings.

    Hi Nubipigg,

My first thought is can the BenQ monitor do 1440p/120hz over HDMI? I have looked at the manual and the website and can’t see any reference to what HDMI can handle and I believe that that is the only thing I can see thats missing from this puzzle. Your monitor
can do both 120 & 140hz easy on PC but that will more than likely be over display port and not HDMI which can handle higher bandwidths.

I could be wrong but it is the only thing that would explain why you get 1080p/120hz and 1440p/60hz.

As for HDR, unless its in a 4k tv I don’t think its all its cracked up to be. In monitors with HDR it is a bit if a marketing gimmick IMO.

I am experiencing this same problem as well as other people with 144hz monitors that support the 1440p and 120hz resolutions on the xbox oneX. I have responded to the xbox ambassador below and hope to get an answer. this needs to be looked by the xbox team
to see if they can provide the support in a future xbox update.

Seems like only a few tvs and samsung monitors can select those resolutions.

Any monitors that work on Xbox One X @ 1440p, 120hz + (freesync or HDR or 10bit), over HDMI 2

I just bought a BenQ. It is a great monitor but it will not do 1440p@120 on the Xbox 1x.
