Being told to buy minecraft java edition again

I bought java edition (for the second time) a couple years ago and wanted to play it again but when i log into my minecraft account im told i dont own the game. My mincraft username appears to have disappeared too. At first i thought it might be connected to another email so i confirmed which emails had a minecraft account by requesting a password reset, however, only one of my emails received the reset email. That email was the one i also received my purchase confirmation on 2 years ago. Another weird thing is that the same email is linked to two minecraft accounts, one via microsoft and the other directly. Im not sure whats going on but i have proof of purchase and I know the username but minecraft support wont help they just told me to ask micosoft support.

Don't worry we will work on this together. Only 1 email address can be linked to an account. This means there's another email assocaited with the account that you're trying to recover.

I bought the Windows 10 version of Minecraft by mistake, but the one I wanted was the java edition.

I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?

Hello mimim2,

The Minecraft launcher you are referring to is only for the Java edition of Minecraft. The Java edition and Windows 10, are two separate games. In order to launch and play Minecraft from the launcher you are using in the last image, you must buy the Java
edition from the site, not the Windows 10 version. Minecraft Java Edition | Minecraft. Annoying I know, but when Microsoft acquired Minecraft they released
their own version of the game on their platform. Hope this helps

Thanks for taking the time to share it. If you sign in to the Minecraft website, are you able to redeem Minecraft Java Edition there, does it show that you also own Java Edition or it asks you to buy Java Edition?
