Being spammed by people advertising

okay we have a massive problem happening here i don't no if Microsoft made a deal with some website or whatever but this is really annoying at this point me and my friends ive heard some other people getting angry about it so these pass few days were getting
spammed by advertiser advertising there website threw xbox and this website really bad i went and had a look at it its a fake website to grab your money and not give you anything in return. sorry about my Grammar forgive me.

okay so basically you will get a message like this but for the love of god do not use this website im just showing you what you might get sent okay so DO NOT VISIT THIS WEBSITE its fake but also real they just spell it wrong so you google it and find it
that way so this is the message i got sent

its me man. xbox died and i had to get a loan to by a new one. add me on this account. if you ever need cash i would check this site out [Mod Removed] this is a scam its not real Microsoft please help us

Awe gosh, I'm sorry Legacy is God! You might want to try going to
http://forums.xbox.com/ selecting 'Settings' in the bottom left hand corner and then change your 'Email Configuration'! Hope this helps.

 

Just mark it as spam in your inbox, then ignore it like any other spam email.

Microsoft can do nothing to stop something that has nothing to do with them.

 

It's actually messages over live owen,I've had a few as well & it does seem to be getting more widespread.

Enforcement are aware of it so all you can do at the moment is block the sender & report via your console.If it get's that bad then set your comms to friends only for the time being.

 

All you can really do is block the spammers. I have yet to see "Spam" as a reason to file a complaint via LIVE.

I can also say that only allowing your friends to see your online status will greatly reduce the amount of these messages. When I'm set to "Everyone" I seem to get many more.

 

I just reported the message I got for "communication"

At least on the xbox one you can write a little side note to go with the report.

 

yes, advertisers will always find a way to infiltrate into any possible crack they can squeeze through to reach someone, anyone that might give them some money for something. If one squeezes through successfully, a thousand more aren't far behind. MS needs
to nip this in the bud before it gets out of control. Advertisers are like a virus.

 

advertising should be banned, it's the new age form of the plague.

 

i also had this happen recently. they mentioned gettingan xbox one from some raffle site. what worried me is how they found my account.

 

It's likely they found your account from your gamertag, perhaps from this very forum or other forums like True Achievements or R* Social Club where you link your gamertag. They get a few thousand gamertags and then send out a mass spam mail, most people
ignore or block but a few suckers will always click through.

There ain't no free lunch. You can't get a free Xbox or free Live memberhip from someone sending you an email. Just block them and forget it.
