Being DDoS'd on Xbox Live

Hello Xbox Community,

For the past 48 hours, a few friends of mine , and myself have been recieving ddos attacks from 4 players directly.

These players are -

The reason they are attacking us -



On Black Ops 2 , There's a mode called "League play"

League is a very competitive game mode, where kids can face off against equally skilled players, my friends and in a bracket with these players, and they are outraged at the fact that we have almost passed them.

[Mod Removed] has recently joined our game (to grab our IP's) and as soon as he joined, I left (because I was widely away of what he was doing) after he had spammed us with invites, and ALL of us, declined and block communications. We happened
to have the game on open, so he was able to join.

He messaged my friend [Mod Removed] and informed him , that if he saw us gain anymore points in our ladder, he would hit us all offline. And he kept his word, everytime we get into a game , my friends are being hit offline and having to reconnect
to xbox live.

I am 100% sure that it is in result of [Mod Removed]. We are currently un-able to play the game without being booted off of xbox live.

I just got off of the phone with Nicole from xbox live support, and she informed me to post on here, & report him on xbox. This is my first report I have ever submitted, and I just want to be able to play the game without being booted off of xbox live. My
friends and I are highly frustrated.

Please take action ASAP.

Microsoft (and Sony) are currently under a DDoS attack from a hacker group known as Lizard Squad (according to the groups Twitter account). All Microsoft can do is react to the attack and bring Xbox Live back online.

Unfortunately there isn't much that can be done to stop a DDoS attack until it happens.

Just to be clear, Microsoft isn't being hacked, it is being DDoS'd. Two different things. Sony is also being DDoS'd right now by the same group.

 

Sorry but support is incorrect. You are not allowed to name and shame on the forums.

If you believe someone to be doing something against the ToU and CoC of the Live service then you need to use the dashboard reporting tools to report the players. Go to their bio and select File Complaint then follow the instructions.

Also DDoS attacks are illegal. For future reference you can contact your ISP and let them know what's happening. They can issue you a new IP address then investigate the claim and, if necessary, lay charges.
