    Hi!
    I'm sorry if this isn't the right place, but I can't find anywhere else to put this. (if I could be redirected to the appropriate site, that'd be nice)
    If it can be answered here though, here's my question.
    There's this game called 'ARK: Survival Ascended' that's going to have a premium mod system in a few months. This will allow mod authors to sell their mods and gain revenue from it, at the cost of giving the publisher a percentage of the revenue.
    I was wondering if I could make something that's from a Microsoft IP, and give Microsoft a large percentage of the revenue. As I'm not really in it for the money, but for the creativity of being allowed to make creatures and such within this game without copyright issues.

    If you arent supposed to use copyrighted material then why did microsoft let him? When you select a custom gamerpic, microsoft reviews the gamerpic before they allow you to use it, if they deem it to be appropriate then your gamerpic changes. Clearly they
    deemed his gamerpic to be appropriate. This is just another example of xbox lives deeply flawed system.

    Enforcement team is only involved after its reported or the said copyright holder complains

    Dmca take down notices are enforcable by law

    Using copyrighted material is a serious offence

    Those can be issued at anytime including after the original post

    Being approved doesn't make it immune to the law or the terms of use

    Instead of relying on myths how about reading the actual enforcement site

    Copyrighted material is not allowed as a game tag picture. If this came from a website and you are not the content owner it isn't allowed.

    Repeated violations can result in the loss of the game tag
