Being able to play realms.

So I got invited to a realm, and it told me that I couldnt join due to the way my account was set up. So I went to get help and it was talking about parental controls, and Im pretty sure my account isnt under parental controls, so I couldnt fix it.

Hi Jane,

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. Sounds like the cross play is not enabled in settings, were you able to look at the
privacy and online settings? We will give you the
steps to change the exact ones for the cross platform use.

make sure you are on the adult account, if on a child account.
Once on the adult account, hit the guide button on controller(Xbox symbol that lights up) this pulls menu on the left side.
Scroll right to the gear looking icon, go to settings.
Once in settings, you will be on account go to Privacy and online safety.
Then choose Xbox live privacy.
You should see the options, child, teen, adult, view details and customize, contact preferences.
Go to view details and customize, then communication and multiplayer.
The two you want to make sure say allow and everybody are:
1. "you can play with people outside of Xbox live" set to allow
2. "you can communicate outside of Xbox live with voice and text" set to everybody
When you launch the game there is also one in the game settings. If not there then they removed.

I see you say you used to have an account.

To be able to play on the servers and realms you will need an active gold subscription.

Also make sure you are not signed up for the beta as this will cause the problem of not being able to join the servers and realms.

I meant being able to manage the realm on the different devices. For instance, If I bought the realm on xbox, Would I be able to use windows 10 edition to manage the realm ( restore backups, download map, ban players and so on ) the same as if I was on
xbox?

You need to make sure that they are on the same update version of Bedrock edition. Currently it is version 1.12.01. Anything higher will be the beta version which is not able to be played on realms.

If they are on the same version then the friend will have to invite them to the realm or give them the realm invite code.

You will also need an active gold subscription to be able to play on realms.
