BEFORE YOU UPGRADE TO 4K LOOK AT THESE LINKS

Well that's a great wall of links there, wow.

Ok, I clicked on the Great Wall of Links and the very first link, literally the one right at the top, takes me a piece of news roughly 3 YEARS OLD. That's pretty much tells anyone thinking of reading these what the Great Wall of Links is all about.

I own a 4K TV that is HDR compatible, plus and Xbox One X and subscribe to Netflix so I can watch 4K, never had any problems.

Regarding the other links "HDR looks worse than SDR" that's the opinion of whoever wrote that article, I for one LOVE HDR, playing Sea of Thieves in SDR looks bland and flat, HDR is STUNNING.

Regarding the "LGR breaks HDR gaming" article, I use my LG in game mode and HDR and like I said, its stunning.

but ye, thanks for creating The Great Wall of Links, must have taken quite a while.

Tell that to the competition aka Sony fanboys PS4. They've been dissing Xbox about having weaker specs since Xbox 360, not so much now since Xbox One X has better specs than PS4 not so Pro.

Technology improvement is not always a bad thing, it's how we use it. We use technology everyday. 4k has better visuals. And the human eye can differentiate between 4k and 1080p and 720p and sub-HD. I have a Sony KD43X8000E 4K HDR TV and having HDR10 on
max looks cray cray, but having it on Auto looks really good. The resolution of the human eye is 576 mega pixels. My Samsung S9 has a camera automatic aperture thingy which functions like an eye, to allow more light in for better night time photography and
    works well during the day.

Granted most of the stuff out there today is not 4k native. I used to own a 1080p TV last year but since getting my 4k TV, my 4k TV does an excellent job with upscaling 1080p YouTube videos. You only live once, make the most of your youth, and have some
fun. It's a straight world without twisties. And Xbox is for all age groups. So telling a 10 year old to grow up is kind of harsh. People are welcome to stick to 1080p resolution if they like. I won't need another TV for another 7 years as I'm happy with my
current 4k TV which has some premium features.

Video games is a big hobby. Take that away and people will either over eat, smoke, or drink. Video gaming is like a distraction.

And the summary is what?...... cause I'm not clicking on all those links. Are you like drunk or something, expecting us to click on that long list of links?

I have an Xbox One X console, currently the most powerful console on the market. Meh PS4 Pro has 4GB less memory, slower bandwidth, and no vapour cooling.

I have my first custom desktop PC, that has a high end 6th gen Intel Core i7-6700k 4.2Ghz CPU, EVGA GTX 1070SC clocked at 1888Mhz, 16GB DDR4 RAM (more than enough for 4k gaming), and a 1TB Samsung SSD for rapid fast boot up, saving and loading.

I also upgraded in January this year to a Sony 43' KDX8000E 4K HDR TV. It has rich Triluminos advanced colour technology producing natural colours and a much wider colour palate, has excellent anti-aliasing, beautiful picture quality (I prefer the Photo
Vivid picture mode), good blacks, HDR10 though the HDR Auto setting is more natural, has an anti-glare display so it doesn't reflect like a mirror in a sunny room, and it has good speakers too they don't sound as tinny as Samsung LG and Panasonic 10W speakers.
Well Sony is a quality brand and they have a low failure rate. This TV is a 2017 model from Sony, and will keep me happy for the next 10 years. And it does a great job with upscaling 720p and 1080p YouTube and Netflix videos.

I also have Vodafone NZ high speed internet too. 100mb/s download, and 10mb/s upload speed. ADSL Broadband speeds only average 15mb/s download and 0.9mb/s upload speed that kind of speed ain't good for being a young noodle among the sea of other young noodles
who like to share stuff on YouTube. With my ISP, I can upload a 15 minute 1080p video to YouTube, in only like 30 minutes, rather than 10 hours at ADSL Broadband speeds which significantly suffer with the upload department.

People will absolutely move on to 4k gaming. Just like when people moved from Xbox 480p to Xbox 360's 720p to Xbox One's 1080p to Xbox One X's 4k. I mean the forum regulars on here most of them don't even touch the Xbox 360 anymore, because they've embraced
change and are taking benefit of new things.

Life is about change and moving on and growing up. It's not about staying on 1080p or less. Granted the state that the internet infrastructure is in, and the size of our planet, the internet infrastructure as a whole, could use a lot of improving. Connectivity
may be great in your country and your city or locale, but that's not the whole scope of what the internet infrastructure is about. The whole scope of the internet infrastructure is about an infrastructure which connects the whole world. Canada, US, UK, NZ,
Australia, China, Russia, Korea, Japan, France, etc.

I also have a Hauppauge HD PVR2 PVR which YouTubers use to record console gameplay videos and share to YouTube. No I'm not talking about the limited 30 second, 2 minute, or 5 minute videos you can record using Microsoft's limited PVR feature in built to
the Xbox One Dashboard, which doesn't by default, record game chat/party chat, and what have you. It works fine on my Xbox One X console without having to change ANY settings, recording using HDMI connection too. And Microsoft already has full 4k support for
Xbox One X and your 4k HDTV.

Just a note you can get cheap 4k TV's for like $250, but those sorts of TV's won't have the same build quality and picture quality is more premium TV's like my one, where the manufacturer wants you to pay more. But if you do spend a bit more, you will get
better quality. Better blacks, better colours, better processing, faster UI, better anti-aliasing, better upscaling.
We should leave games if we want to grow up. Time flies and death is at hand. Should we not leave this stuff and do something worthile with our time?

"Whosever finds his life will lose it, but he who loses it for my sake will find it"

Lets forget about this stuff and start growing up. There will always be something to chase - something better and faster, while we are wasting away - not living. Its all smoke...it looks good and mysterious, but try to grasp it and you will find there is
nothing and chase the next cloud.

What does it benefit a man to have the entire world but lose his soul?

I agree with you and I apologize, I was way out of line. Sorry for being such a hypocrite. I enjoy my Xbox very much. and I have been playing games since I was 10. I also agree that its a better distraction than many other things.

Once again, I apologize. Thank you for answering in such a "grown up" manner and sorry for my childish behavior.

Ps I can start to see the obvious differences between 4k and 1080p. I was looking at my phone one day and had difficulty to read certain text in a video. After I upped the resolution I could clearly read the text. Also in games I can see further and there
is less jaggies in 4k - something that helps me because I am awful at online multiplayer! You have a nice setup btw. I hope to keep my 4k for a few years also.

Yes, and technology is certainly helpful for us.

Enjoy your gaming and thanks for your answers!
