Been trying for over 10 years to change email address - nothing but failure

So I have a gamertag that has been used for over ten years. This gamertag is tied to email address "A", which is a hotmail domain.

I want to move this gamertag to email address "B", which is also a hotmail domain. Email address "B" is my primary email address I have been using since 1999.

Unfortunately, Microsoft already assigned a different gamertag to email address "B". They automatically assigned a gamertag to this account probably around 8 years ago, against my wishes. It is one of those dumb default gamertags Microsoft generates automatically.

So how do I move my gamertag from email address "A" to email address "B"?

I can't remove email address "B" as an alias, because I will no longer be able to use it as my primary email address (Microsoft warns that you will no longer be able to send/receive email if the alias is removed).

I can't unassign the dumb, automatically generated gamertag from email address "B". It won't let me for some reason.

I have been fighting this issue for over ten years without any success. I just want my gamertag assigned to the correct email address. How hard can that possibly be? I have been a paying customer for a long time. You would think someone would be able to
have an answer for me.

Trying to make a WLID and its not working

I am getting rid of the old email address that I have been using for my gamertag and changing it over to my gmail account. I am trying to make a WLID account for my new email address but when i do it says this email address ia already a WLID account. But
when I try to recover the password for my email address it says that this account is not a WLID account. WTF do i do? The email address im trying to change it to is

Changing email linked to Xbox Live account problems

What's up, I have been trying to change the email address associated with my Xbox Live account, however, when I enter the new email an error message says, "This account is already in use." The email that I am trying to change it to is MY account. It is
an existing account that I have had for a couple of months and has now become my main email, which is why I am trying to change emails. There are NO Xbox Live profiles linked to the new email that I am trying to change it to. Nothing is linked to it. It's
just a standard outlook email address, but the website will not allow me to switch to that address. I am the most confused I have ever been in my life and I would appreciate some help, thank you.

HI there,

Easiest thing to do, use a third email address (we'll call it Address C). Add address C to account B and remove address B from there. Then you can add address B to account A.

After that, it's your decision what to do - assign Address A to Account B, close out account B, etc.

Its the same email address I have been using for nearly 10 years and suddenly when I log in the gamertag has changed. Have emails from xbox to that email address from years ago with links to my original gamertag

The "NecessaryPine57" is a placeholder tag for the gamertag you made under the gmail address you wanted to change your main to. Since you made a new account, refer to the following:

Switch gamertags between two Windows Live ID accounts
If you try to switch your Xbox LIVE gamertag to a Windows Live ID that is already linked to another gamertag, you will receive this message:

“The Windows Live ID you’re switching to is already linked to another Xbox LIVE account. You must use another Windows Live ID.”

Before you can switch your gamertag in this case, you must first remove the existing gamertag from that Windows Live ID account:

Create a new Windows Live ID. You will only need this Windows Live ID as a temporary means of moving your gamertags. After the gamertags have been switched, you will no longer need this Windows Live
ID.

Example:

Gamertag A is linked to Windows Live ID 1.

Gamertag B is linked to Windows Live ID 2.

Create a new Windows Live ID: Windows Live ID 3.
Switch the gamertag that is linked to the Windows Live ID you want to use to the new temporary Windows Live
ID you just created.

Example:

Gamertag A remains linked to Windows Live ID 1.

Switch gamertag B to Windows Live ID 3.

Windows Live ID 2 is now free.
Switch your gamertag to the Windows Live ID you want to use.

Example:

Switch gamertag A to Windows Live ID 2.

Gamertag B remains linked to Windows Live ID 3.

Windows Live ID 1 is now free.
To complete the swap of gamertags between the two original Windows Live ID accounts, you must wait 30 days. (A gamertag can be switched only once every 30 days.)

Example:

Gamertag A remains linked to Windows Live ID 2.

After 30 days, switch gamertag B to Windows Live ID 1.

Windows Live ID 3 is now free and no longer needed.

It's been around 8-10 years. I tried to change my gamertag to my old one but it wouldn't allow me to do so. Yes I am using the same email address.
