    Been getting system updates while playing


    I have been getting "its time to update" screens while I am playing a game with friends or watching something online, I have to update or play offline. Is there way to turn this stupid feature off, I have tried switching from automatic updates to manual
    and vice versa but nothing works? Am I missing something or is this mandatory because getting interrupted while playing with friends is just infuriating.

    You must not have played for a while to get an update today. I know it sounds dumb, but make sure you're connected to your internet to purchase and download your characters. There hasn't been many problems at all with the DLC or updates, so I'm unsure what
    you're getting upset over. What system are you playing it on? Doesn't look like 360 but I can't tell.

    Are you in the Xbox One Insider Program by chance? Being in the Insider program will cause your console to update more frequently since you'll be testing new features. The best thing you can do is turn on automatic updates, but sometimes if an update is
    mandatory and can't be delayed, you may see a forced update like that.

    Catan Title Update 09/14/2011

    Has it been a while since you played it? The console's system cache can only store a few title updates at a time, so the older ones get deleted and re-downloaded as necessary. So, this could be an old update re-downloaded.

    I've no doubt that downloading it from a website and then popping the update on a USB stick works.

    However legitimate? That is debatable.

    While it is true that you still have to play the game to drive the cars, you still have technically been involved in system tampering. This is because Microsoft do not allow you to download updates to your PC.

    It wouldn't even be hard for Microsoft to tell what they consider system tampering has been happening. It is now impossible to get Title Update 1 for Grid from Live, the OP has played the game online since TU2 has been released.

    So if he pops an achievements that requires TU1, then it is going to be obvious to them what has happened.

    While I understand the pull an unobtainable achievement can have, is it really worth risking Enforcement action on your account to get it.
