Been away from Xbox for a long time!

I've been away from Xbox for a long time now, I bought an original Xbox on its release day and also a 360, but since about 2007, I've been pretty much a Playstation gamer, as that is where most of my friends seem to play. I miss my old Xbox days so have
decided to sell my PS4 and get an Xbox One. The question is, do you as experienced Xbox gamers think I'm making the right decision? My mates think I'm mad, but I just feel like the service on the Xbox is better, I have a few friends on Xbox and the community
has always been great, well in my personal experience anyway! Thanks for your help.

Thought i was good until i played online

i recently got it for the xbox & its a nightmare to play with the daft d-pad on the controller, even the DB or DF doesnt come out at times. doing my head in. add away if u still play MK, im lookin for some practice as ive been away from MK for a long time.

 

Only you can decide whether it's a good decision or not, for me at the moment if i was forced into getting a next gen console, it wouldn't be an Xbox One

 

I personally think being able to play with your friends is a big reason to pick on platform over the other. Sure, quality of service is important, and so is the community - and if they are the decisive factors for you, then you've made the right choice.

For me, personally, I've always thought the exclusives were the most important factor.

Regardless of what I or anyone else think though, you have to be happy with your own purchase.

 

I moved to PS4 at launch foolishly last 3 months then came back seriously dude PS4 sucks. No updates about anything people actually want. Netowrks always down and I do mean always. All maintenance is done on weekends and bank holidays UK evening time. All
exclusives are mostly singleplayer dull affairs. They have nothing like the amazing functionality of the XB1. You made a great call dont let the Sony zealots try tell you otherwise. Plus XB1 has loads of exclusive content on the AAA games and early access
etc

Also for me the games play just as an important part in choosing. I think both consoles have a fantastic line up of multiplatform titles, whether released or yet to be released.

For me Xbox One wins hands down for exclusives, again whether released or yet to be released but we are all different, others prefer what exclusives the PS4 has to offer.

At the end of the day both consoles have their pros and cons but a lot of fun to be had on both either way.

No Mans Sky is my pick of the bunch there, looks/sounds incredible but I also know Uncharted will be a day one buy.

As most will tell you, its about who you pay with and what you want to play. I say it a lot but these folks right here are among the best people I have ever gamed with or got to know, so on that score alone, Xbox is where I want to be.

Just stay off the driving games and we shall be fine ;-p

 

"No Man's Sky" turned out to be "No Company's Exclusive" so you'll be able to play that on the ONE.

"The Order" looks cool on paper but as far as the gameplay demo I've seen on IGN goes it looks a bit ridiculous. "Ryse: Son Of Rome" graphics might not really be enough to save "Gears Of Dishonoured".

With September the games are just going to snowball, starting with "Destiny".

 

Welcome back brother! One thing I think Microsoft is getting right is listening to feedback and updating the OS on the Xbox One accordingly and on a regular basis too. While the PS4's OS is easy to navigate, Sony could update their OS a bit more often with
feedback from their fanbase.

For me though like CosmicThought, I tend to use the Xbox One more often because most of my friends are on that platform.
