    Hello! So i have a ps4.. And i have Minecraft on it. version 1.20.31 (bedrock version). Recently my friend told me that if i own bedrock on ps4, i can get it java for free on pc.. I was like okay cool! I log in with the same microsoft account that i also use on my ps4.. When i log in, i go ahead to try to download the java version and it will not let me.. It makes me buy the game again.. My friend has a ps4 and had minecraft on it aswell and she said it worked for her.. She said that she got java for free because she owns bedrock for ps4 like i do.. Oddly for me , it doesnt work. I even used minecraft launcher to see if it works, nothing.. I even tried minecraft for windows and it has me play a demo. In minecraft launcher, java edition it makes me play a trial.. but when i play for windows it gives me the option to sign in for "free" and when i do, it makes me buy it.. I searched it up if i have bedrock, i can also play it on java and it says yes.     It shouldn't matter if your friend had the game in digital format, it's irrelevant because, as you could see in the frequently asked questions section of the website you shared earlier, it specifies that the offer is not valid for Minecraft Bedrock console versions like PS4. Personally, I had purchased Minecraft Bedrock for an Xbox console, and I never received Minecraft Java on PC, although I didn't expect it to happen since the offer didn't apply to me either.

    It's really strange to me that your friend was given the Java Edition of Minecraft on PC while having only Minecraft Bedrock on PS4, as this is not possible.

    In the link you shared, if you scroll down a bit on the website, specifically in the Frequently Asked Questions section, you will find the following information that I will quote:

    "I HAVE MINECRAFT BEDROCK EDITION ON SWITCH/MOBILE/PLAYSTATION/ANOTHER PLATFORM BESIDES PC, MAC OR LINUX. DO I GET JAVA EDITION FOR FREE?

    Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC is only for the PC, Mac, and Linux platforms at the moment. This offer does not apply to consoles or other versions of Minecraft."

    As you can see, this does not apply if you have Minecraft Bedrock for other devices like consoles. The offer only applies if you have Minecraft Bedrock for PC. So, as I mentioned earlier, I find it strange.

    Are you sure that your friend doesn't have Game Pass or didn't purchase the game previously? There must be an explanation because with the PS4 version of the game, your friend couldn't have received Minecraft Java on PC.

    Hello there sorry that you're going through this are you Just now switching to bedrock on ps4. If yes the java version and bedrock are two different versions so everything will not transfer over.
