Becoming an Adult Account to change gamerpic to a custom gamerpic photo

Yea I want to change my gamer pic to something that is not the default selection. I can't do that however as I need to have an adult account. I changed my account to an adult one via age and everything else but I still can't change my gamer pic to a custom
one.

Xbox and Microsoft Account Trouble

Now that I’m older, I wanted to change my account to be an adult so that I could customize more, such as replacing my gamerpic with a custom photo. I went through the trouble of making my microsoft account into an adult account now, but my Xbox repeadly
says I’m not old enough to change my gamerpic to a custom photo.

I don’t really know what the problem is here, I’ve tried restarting my Xbox, removing and readding my account to the Xbox, any other suggestions?

 

Change the gamerpic of a child account

If you're wanting to use a custom gamerpic, he would need an adult account. There is currently no way to use a custom gamerpic on child accounts.

Otherwise, you can change his gamertag to one of the ones Xbox makes available.

 

Sorry to hear it. Changing the date of birth doesn't age your account up though. Once the date of birth is set it cannot be changed on the account and it must age normally.

 

Also child accounts under a master family account will always be considered a child account no mater what your age is.

 

The adult preference on your account will not effect being able to add custom gamerpics. It goes by the date of birth you added when you made the account. There is no way to change this for xbox. When you turn 18 or if Xbox ever
changes this you will be add a custom gamerpic.
