Be Careful when Purchasing Xbox Digital Games via in-store card purchase

Just purchased a Jedi Fallen Order digital game card to install for my son. Despite the game card telling me to keep my receipt that contains the code for the game in which I purchased at a local Target, I misplaced my receipt. Target can't help me regenerate
my receipt, and Microsoft won't listen to me. So in effect, I purchased an unusable $59.99 piece of cardboard. Should you take it upon yourself to purchase one of these game cards through a retail chain, please, please, please remember to keep your receipt
with the game code. This is a great scheme put on by Microsoft to steal your money!

Needless to say, I'll be taking my business over to Playstation when it comes time to replace the console. Thank you Microsoft. Job well done.

I recommend that you buy any game from the Microsoft Store. It is not your fault that you lost the receipt. On any platform, be cautious.

The issue would be handled the same way by PlayStation or any other also.

You can not blame Microsoft, for a fault of your own.

always keep the receipt just in case you have to take it back in case they need to activate it. I never buy digital codes from a retail store.

Another tip for buying from retail stores is if you buy more than one microsoft gift card make sure the cashier scans each one. If they are in a hurry , one card isn't registering or its their first day on the job. They might scan the same card multiple
times. It will go through that you bought multiple cards but the one not actually scaned will not work when you try to redeem. It will say it isn't activated, return to merchant. Then hopefully you find a nice manager to help you out.
