BDR / BDRE Support

I was under the impression that BDR and BD-RE support was going to be made available in the July update. Since receiving the update today im still having no luck in playing any bdr/bd-re disks. Anyone got any further information on this ?

Streaming a Blu-Ray disc from PC using Windows 10 to Xbox one

Is this possible? I know that the Xbox One has a Blu Ray player, but it has problems with BDR discs I have created. So, if I want to stream from my PC which does support BDR discs, is this possible?

Installing without working DVD drive

I'm buying at half the usual price of a fully funtioning used console, an XBox One console which according to the professional computer retailer on eBay, will not read game discs. (I have owned a 360 for over 7 years). I'm already aware that many games
are now installed via download, not using a DVD or BDR. But if I did buy a DVD/BDR game, can it be installed via any of these methods: 1) via a network connection to my laptop, which has a BDR. 2) via a USB BDR/Writer 3) via zipping up the contents of the
game disc and downloading to the hard drive of the One console, then unzipping and installing 4) via an emulated BDR on the console, which can be shared via a home network connection to my laptop???

 

Confirm. It does not work. My version is: 6.2.11274.0 (xb_rel_1407.140703-1704) fre. Created small video for test - converted to AVCHD, burned it. Panasonic DMP-BDT500 plays it without any problems. XboxOne - no. Same errors. Repro video here:

Well at least it's not me then. I was hoping this being included in the update would allow me get rid of the stand alone bluray player I have to use. 3D support is the only other bluray update ud like to see.

 

Same not working for me. Burned a BDR using different formats still no luck. Waste of an update.

 

Any chance of some sort of official word about if it was missed off the update or just not working ??

That's typical to be confused and as a fellow Xbox user, I have also anticipated the same update.

Blu rays actually have a unique codec that the console can read. As part of the license and security feature of the console, it is able to play pre-configured blu rays, those that have been pre-configured and marked as legitimate and licensed.

Don't get me wrong though. I'm all for the ability to play my own blu rays on the console too.

Did NOT work for me. Tech support said it is does work. Suggested an replacement unit. So, I signed up for the "Advanced Replacement" option. New unit should be here soon. Waste of money?????? Should know tommorrow!.

 

Like I thought ... replacement unit does NOT play bd-r blu ray disk.

 

so still no update on this then. I notice that 3D support is going to be added in next patch. My question is then will it ??

When you say "future" system update, are we talking 2014? Because if you were, 2014 is almost over.
